FanDuel Predicts review hero

FanDuel Predicts is the only major prediction market still running on CME Group’s exchange, and that’s now its defining feature. DraftKings left CME in June 2026 to launch its own exchange (DKeX). FanDuel stayed, because FanDuel Predicts is a true joint venture with CME, operated by FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC, a registered Futures Commission Merchant and NFA member. Every contract executes on CME’s CFTC-regulated exchange and clears through CME’s clearinghouse.

The platform launched December 22, 2025 in five states and hit all 50 states plus DC for non-sports markets by January 15, 2026. Sports event contracts are live in exactly 18 states, the ones where FanDuel Sportsbook doesn’t operate. That includes California, Texas, Florida, and Georgia, the four biggest states without legal online sports betting.

The strategy is transparent once you see it. FanDuel protects its state-licensed sportsbook where that business exists, and uses Predicts to plant a flag everywhere it doesn’t. If you’re a sports fan in a no-sportsbook state, you’re the target customer.

Here’s the full picture: what the platform offers as of July 2026, how trading works through the FanDuel/CME structure, where you can use it, the current bonus, and where it stands against the rest of the field.

What FanDuel Predicts Is

FanDuel Predicts is a prediction markets app built as a joint venture between FanDuel Group (the U.S. sportsbook arm of Flutter Entertainment) and CME Group. You trade binary Yes/No event contracts on sports, commodities, financials, economics, and crypto, all executed on CME’s CFTC-regulated exchange.

Contracts price between $0.01 and $0.99. That price is the market’s implied probability. Winners pay $1.00 at settlement, losers pay $0.00. Standard CFTC event contract mechanics.

The snapshot:

  • Launch: December 22, 2025 in 5 states; all 50 states + DC (non-sports) since January 15, 2026

  • Operator: FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC (FCM, NFA member)

  • JV partners: FanDuel Group + CME Group

  • Exchange: CME Group (CFTC-regulated DCM), with Plus500 named as brokerage/clearing provider at launch

  • Parent: Flutter Entertainment (LSE: FLTR, NYSE: FLUT)

  • Availability: all 50 states + DC for non-sports markets; sports in 18 states

  • Fees: flat 2% on payouts

  • Age: 18+ (21+ in VA)

  • Platform: mobile-only (iOS and Android), no desktop or web trading

The CME Group Partnership

The JV with CME is the single most important structural fact about this product, and it got more important in June 2026. When DraftKings moved its contracts onto its own DKeX exchange, FanDuel became the one major consumer operator whose markets live on CME.

Why that matters in practice:

CME has run CFTC-regulated derivatives markets for decades and handles trillions in annual volume. The infrastructure is as mature as it gets. Its existing market-making relationships deliver liquidity that new exchanges have to build from scratch, and the CME name carries real weight with regulators at a moment when state attorneys general are fighting the CFTC over who controls sports contracts.

The JV structure also means FanDuel owns a piece of the exchange economics rather than renting access. DraftKings decided it wanted to own the whole stack and built DKeX. FanDuel decided the CME partnership was worth more than independence. Two legitimate bets. Only one comes with CME’s clearinghouse behind it.

How Trading Works

The flow inside the app is simple. Open FanDuel Predicts (a standalone app, separate from FanDuel Sportsbook and Casino). Browse markets by category: Sports where eligible, Commodities, Financials, Economics, Crypto.

Every market is a binary Yes/No question. Sports markets display in sportsbook-style American odds, which is a deliberate choice to make FanDuel Sportsbook users feel at home. Tap your side, enter a stake, and the app converts it to a contract count and shows the projected payout. Funds come from your Predicts cash balance.

From there you hold to settlement or exit early. Many markets support cash-out before resolution at the current market price. At settlement, winning contracts pay $1 each minus the 2% payout fee. Losing contracts pay nothing.

Markets Available

Sports is the headline category where it’s live: NFL, college football, NBA, college basketball, MLB, NHL, UFC, soccer, tennis, golf, boxing. Moneylines, spreads, totals, player props, plus preset combinations (FanDuel’s parlay-style product).

The non-sports categories run in all 50 states. Commodities covers gold, natural gas, and energy. Financials covers the S&P 500, Nasdaq, and EUR/USD. Economics covers Fed rate decisions, CPI prints, GDP, and jobs reports. Crypto covers Bitcoin price ranges and other majors.

Still no political markets as of July 2026. That’s a real gap against Kalshi and Polymarket, where politics drives serious volume.

State Availability: The Sportsbook Constraint

FanDuel Predicts operates in all 50 states plus DC, but sports contracts are limited to 18 states: Alabama, Alaska, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, and Utah.

The pattern: FanDuel will not offer sports event contracts anywhere FanDuel Sportsbook holds a license (roughly two dozen states plus DC and Puerto Rico). The sportsbook wins every tiebreaker. DraftKings made the identical call with its own prediction product, which also runs sports in 18 non-sportsbook states.

For traders in California, Texas, Florida, and Georgia, this is the point: a federally regulated path to sports contracts in states where sports betting doesn’t exist. For everyone in a FanDuel Sportsbook state, Predicts is a financial and economic markets app.

The Welcome Bonus

The current offer is a $25 bonus, and the terms changed in June 2026. Under the promo running June 9 through July 20, 2026, you sign up, deposit, and place a real-money trade, then the $25 credits to your account. No promo code needed.

Two catches worth knowing. The bonus itself can’t be withdrawn (winnings from trades placed with it can), and any unused bonus disappears 7 days after crediting. Earlier in 2026 FanDuel ran this as a no-deposit offer with a 3-month window. That version is gone. The promo is also limited to the 18 sports-eligible states.

$25 for a $5-minimum deposit and one trade is still one of the better standing offers in the category. Just don’t sit on it.

Fees

FanDuel Predicts charges a flat 2% on payouts, meaning winning settlements and early sell-offs. Losing trades pay nothing extra; the lost stake is the whole cost. No deposit fees, no withdrawal fees, no inactivity fees.

The 2% is simple, and simplicity has a price: on heavy favorites, 2% of the full payout eats a big chunk of a thin profit margin. The full math is in our FanDuel Predicts fees article.

Who It’s For

Two groups, clearly.

First, sports bettors in the 18 eligible states, especially the big four without legal sportsbooks. If you’re in Texas and want to trade NFL outcomes on a federally regulated venue with a familiar FanDuel interface, this is built for you.

Second, existing FanDuel customers in sportsbook states who want Fed decisions, CPI, and crypto markets bolted onto a brand they already trust. Predicts gives them a regulated derivatives product the sportsbook can’t offer.

If prediction markets are your primary game rather than a sports betting substitute, Kalshi has far deeper selection, Polymarket owns politics, and Robinhood folds event contracts into a full brokerage. FanDuel built this for sports fans first and it shows.

Bottom Line

FanDuel Predicts is a serious product with the most institutionally credible exchange partner in the space. The app is polished, the 2% fee is fair for most trading, and the CME clearinghouse is the gold standard for fund protection.

The constraint is self-imposed: no sports contracts where the sportsbook lives, which walls off most of the country from the product’s best category. FanDuel chose to protect its core business, and that choice defines what Predicts can be.

If you’re in one of the 18 sports states, this is one of the easiest regulated on-ramps to sports prediction markets available today.
