How to Withdraw from Kalshi: A Complete Guide

By PredictQ Team // Updated: July 2026

Getting money out of Kalshi is free on every method and can be as fast as 30 minutes. But there’s a hold system that trips up new users, and knowing how it works is the difference between “money’s back in my account before lunch” and “why is this taking five days.”

This guide covers every withdrawal method, timing, fees (spoiler: essentially none), and how to plan your deposits so your withdrawals never hit an avoidable delay.

The Three Withdrawal Methods

Kalshi supports exactly three ways to withdraw:

  • Bank transfer (ACH)

  • Debit card

  • Crypto

That’s the full list. Several deposit methods (Cash App, PayPal, Venmo, wire transfer) do not work for withdrawals. Cash App is deposit-only. PayPal and Venmo withdrawals aren’t supported. Wires don’t come back out as wires.

For most people this is a non-issue. ACH handles routine withdrawals, and debit card or crypto covers anyone who wants money fast.

Bank Transfer (ACH)

The default for most users.

To use it: open the Transfers tab, select “Withdraw from Kalshi,” choose “Bank Transfer,” pick your linked bank account, enter the amount, confirm.

Timing runs a few business days, usually two to three depending on the receiving bank.

Fees: none.

Availability: US users only.

You’ll need a previously linked bank account, connected through Plaid or Aeropay. Linking takes a few minutes with standard credential verification, so do it before you need the money rather than while you’re waiting on it.

Debit Card

The fastest option.

Same flow: Transfers tab, “Withdraw from Kalshi,” select “Debit Card,” choose your card (cards linked via Apple Pay or Google Pay work too), enter the amount, confirm.

Timing: funds typically land on the card within 30 minutes. Occasionally the payment processor requires extra verification and the withdrawal takes longer. That’s random screening, and you didn’t do anything wrong.

Fees: per Kalshi’s current help center, no fee for debit withdrawals through its US payment processor. Some third-party write-ups still reference a $2 flat fee; the platform documentation doesn’t list one.

Availability: US and international. US withdrawals run through Kalshi’s primary processor; international ones go through Checkout.

Limits: daily withdrawal caps are personalized and grow with account activity. New accounts start lower.

Crypto

For anyone who deposited via crypto or prefers those rails.

Flow: Transfers tab, “Withdraw from Kalshi,” select “Crypto,” follow the steps to send funds to your wallet address.

Timing: usually within 30 minutes.

Fees: none from Kalshi. Network fees depend on the chain.

Availability: US and international. US crypto withdrawals run through Zero Hash, a regulated custody and infrastructure provider.

The catch: you must have made a crypto deposit before you can withdraw via crypto. Fraud prevention. If your only deposits were ACH or debit, crypto withdrawal is locked until you make a small crypto deposit first. Some accounts also need extra document verification before the first crypto withdrawal processes.

Security Holds: The One Thing That Trips People Up

Kalshi holds deposited funds temporarily before they can be withdrawn to a different method than the one you used to deposit. The rule of thumb: withdrawing to the same method you deposited from is always faster.

The specifics:

  1. Deposit via debit card, withdraw to the same card: available once the deposit settles.

  2. Deposit via debit card, withdraw to a different method (like your bank): 2 days after settlement.

  3. Deposit via ACH, withdraw via ACH: no hold once the deposit settles.

  4. Deposit via ACH, withdraw to a different method: 2 days after settlement.

  5. Deposit via wire: no hold at all.

  6. Deposit via Cash App: every withdrawal goes to a different method (Cash App is deposit-only), so a short hold may apply.

The critical detail: holds apply only to your original deposit. Profits withdraw immediately, any method, any time. Deposit $100, grow the account to $250, and the $150 in earnings is available right now even if the $100 principal is still on hold.

That’s honest engineering. The structure blocks a specific fraud pattern (deposit, then immediately pull funds out through a different account) without ever locking up what you’ve won.

Timing Summary

  • Fastest: debit card or crypto, about 30 minutes, assuming no hold

  • Standard: ACH, 1-3 business days

  • With a hold: add 2 days to the base timing when withdrawing to a different method than you deposited from

Want fast withdrawals from day one? Deposit through the method you plan to withdraw to. ACH in, ACH out is the cleanest pattern for most people.

Common Withdrawal Issues

Six things that slow people down:

  1. Fresh deposits may still be on hold. Check hold status before initiating a withdrawal so the timing doesn’t surprise you.

  2. The receiving account name must match your Kalshi account name. Withdrawing to a bank account in someone else’s name fails every time. KYC requirement, no exceptions.

  3. Random security verification. Processors occasionally flag withdrawals for extra checks. Automated, quick, and no reflection on you.

  4. Daily limits. New accounts have lower caps that grow with trading history. A large withdrawal getting held back is often just the daily limit doing its job.

  5. Crypto requires a prior crypto deposit. Covered above, and worth repeating because it catches people constantly.

  6. Open positions don’t count. You can only withdraw your cash balance. If your capital is sitting in contracts, sell out first, then withdraw.

If a Withdrawal Gets Stuck

Start in the Transfers section, which shows the status of every pending transaction. “Pending verification” means the processor is running additional checks, and the withdrawal completes when they finish.

If a withdrawal shows failed, or sits delayed more than a day past the expected window, contact Kalshi support by email or in-app chat. Responses typically come within a few hours, and withdrawal issues are the kind of thing the support team resolves fast.

Bottom Line

Kalshi withdrawals are free, fast, and predictable once you understand the hold structure. The holds exist to stop fraud, never to sit on your profits, and every dollar you win is withdrawable the moment it’s yours.

The optimal setup takes one decision at the start: deposit via ACH, trade, withdraw via ACH. Free in, free out, no holds, no surprises.
