What’s Hot – The PredictQ Culture Radar: Big Brother, GTA VI and Taylor Swift

Week of August 24, 2026.

Big Brother and GTA VI are the headliners for the second week in a row.

Every Monday, we run hundreds of topics across thousands of active Kalshi Entertainment markets to find out one thing: which markets are holding the most volume right now. This tells us what people are excited about, talking about and, most importantly, where they are putting their money. That helps us identify where attention is being concentrated so you can spot the story before it’s everywhere.

Two numbers do the heavy lifting here: timeliness (how close a market is to resolving) and volume (how much trading activity it’s pulling). Cross them and we can put these markets into three buckets: Hot and Loud (loads of volume and close to a resolution date), Big and Banking (not particularly close to resolution date, but the audience and volume are there), and On the Radar (high timeliness but the volume hasn’t caught up yet).

Here’s what topped the board this week.

Hot and Loud

Where the conversation and the clock are moving at the same speed.

Safe to skip over #1 and #3 in the chart, both have high volume and close resolution dates but both also carry outcomes at almost 90%, so not much to discuss.

So, once again, it’s a Big Brother and GTA VI week. For BB specifically, the week 7 elimination market is a two-headed monster with Taylor Brown & Mallory Aurichio facing the axe.

Seeing $300k+ volume since the market opened on the 21st, it resolves this week on the 27th once the votes are final. This Thursday could cap an absolutely brutal run out for Mallory, who sat at just a 4% chance of elimination a couple days ago. This dramatic spike (currently sitting at 44%) is being driven by a lost challenge and a recent push to nominate her as the third person to be on the chopping block. Monitor the movement on this one closely as the market could swing quite a bit leading up to Thursday’s elimination.

Next one of note on the list is of course, GTA VI. I don’t think I can remember a game, movie, or any piece of media that has generated this much buzz seemingly every week leading up to its release date. The hot market for it today is if another trailer will release before October. There has been a flood of various leaks and information reaching the ears of the excitable public so it makes sense the volume here is heavy.

The sharp decline since the beginning of August seems to be more of a timing thing than the result of any real indicators. An important note directly from Kalshi regarding some of the gameplay that has already been released (and perhaps leaked): “‘New trailer’ means ‘Explicitly marketed or titled as a GTA 6/Grand Theft Auto VI trailer’. A gameplay demonstration without ‘trailer’ designation will NOT meet the Payout Criterion for this event.”  That distinction points straight to the next GTA market that is heating up: “How long will the extended look video be?

This one has shown an uptick in volume over the last 24 hours as it hurtles towards its resolve date on the 27th. The market is currently indicating it could land somewhere between 20-30 minutes of run time (80% on at least 20, 29% on at least 30).

Do you think Rockstar releases an Official Gameplay Trailer after a 20+ minute extended look video?

Rounding out this section is the Swifties (Taylor Swift daily view count for the month of August).

September is a week away and she has yet to top 15M daily views on YouTube. Last week’s viewing window for her count shows 14M sitting at over 60% implied probability. So, it seems like this one is going to resolve close, regardless of which way it does.

Can the Swifties pull out an organic 15M day without the help of new material from the Showgirl herself?

Big and Banking

Big, durable headlines that don’t have a close resolve date but the audience and the volume are already there.

The Odyssey best picture odds continue to hold volume at the top. The Nolan film is maintaining a strong position with 56% implied to take home the award.

The $4M+ is an impressive start for a market that doesn’t close for another 6 months. The gap here is wide, with the Sandworm of Dune looking more like the small pink ones that live in the dirt compared to The Odyssey’s current form. This will be a fun one to track over the next few months as we get further away from The Odyssey viewings and closer to the Dune ones. How will the audience react and drive price?

GTA VI earns yet another spot on the Culture Radar. This time, for its current domination in the “Game of the year” market. It’s an inverted look of The Oscars market that had the already-released film as the favorite. Here, it’s the to-be-released game that is scorching the charts.

Grand Theft Auto is already a massive favorite at 67% implied probability, with the game still months from being released. The market has shown its bias and excitement all year for GTA VI, so the steady climb and increasing gap shouldn’t be a surprise as we inch closer to release date.

The name’s Bond… James Bond.  The “next Bond”  market has gained some steam recently for a variety of factors. The producer, Amy Pascal, in a recent interview with Deadline, hinted that the announcement for Daniel Craig’s successor as Bond could come by the end of this year. Alongside that, the auditions for the role itself seem to be in the final stages as of mid-August, so the market is just reacting in real time with the news that comes out.

On the Radar

Some thin, quick hitters with mostly low volume that may be worth keeping an eye over the next couple weeks.

·       “PRIMA” album sales currently showing low liquidity but the three week closing window means volume can ramp up fast once pre-orders and early numbers surface.

·       Zohran Mamdani as TIME Person of the year – wrote this one up last week but volume remains strong and he’s jumped up to 36% from 30% since last week

·       Big Brother winner and second place finisher are both showing high to decent liquidity. Still months away but we know Big Brother is 24/7 on camera and on volume as well.

·       Travis Scott to release a new album before 2027 – not exceptional volume as of yet but could change as we get closer to the end of the year and if he releases any singles or does any features.

·       Super bowl halftime show performer – medium liquidity as of this writing, could draw some more volume as the NFL season approaches.

Next week, we’ll see if the Big Brother markets get a fun reset after Thursday’s elimination and if GTA continues its run ahead of release. As always, the full board, live odds and price comparison at Market Dashboard | PredictQ.
